What you will find on the Flying Breadbin Wiki
This site houses a growing number of interlinked pages of information accumulated for an aircraft project called the Flying Breadbin. The site provides a searchable and easily updated location for multimedia, technical and text-based information.
The public portion of the wiki tracks the building of a CH 750 STOL, while the Breadbin project pages are password protected. The shortcuts below are the easiest place to start with information falling broadly into those categories. In the event you'd like to contact me about this site or the information on it, please click
HERE:
Build Log

Progress on the kit build is listed in a tabled
Build Log-at-a-glance. It is date-based and terms are crosslinked.
.
Airframe Index

The
750 STOL Airframe Index is a good point of departure to find listed pages relating to airframe of the STOL 750.
.
Corvair Engine Index

The
Corvair engine index is a similarly good point of departure to find pages of information relating to the firewall-forward setup of the Corvair engine to be used on the 750 STOL.
Panel and Wiring

An index for the
panel and wiring.
.
Tool Index
Tool index - I realized as I started adding pages that I was often referring to tools, either needed, or suggested by others, so I thought an index might be useful, too.
Vendor and Supplier Index
Vendor and Supplier index - It seems there are hundreds of parts and if many people are like me - someone who hasn't previously built an aircraft and an aircraft engine, then a vendor and supplier list is likely to be handy.
Acronyms and Aviation Terminology

I have difficulty keeping all the aviation terms and acronyms that get bandied about straight, so I started two lists of my own. Once I've got them totally complete in about 2025, I'll make sure any term relevant to my build process is crosslinked, too. Acronyms are most easily found on the
Acronym List and aviation terms
HERE.
Flying Breadbin Blog

An informal and more personal account of the project, including the detours thrown in, is at the
Progress Blog. I often add links to pages here on the Build Wiki.
Search

A note about
SEARCH - Search on the Flying Breadbin series of sites is compartmentalized. Search on the
main website searches only that site. Search on the
Progress Blog will turn up information only on the blog and search on the Build Wiki, here, will yield results only the wiki. That said, because of crosslinking, searches in any of the subsites may turn up what you are looking for. The biggest subsite, with several hundred pages, is the wiki.
Why a wiki?

Part of the reason for a wiki on the
Flying Breadbin website is my belief that capabilities inherent in wiki software provide the ideal way to connect the complex inter-related component information in projects such as this.
Participating on this site
This portion of the
Flying Breadbin website uses open source
wiki technology. Wiki software is designed to allow participation by multiple contributors. For people interested in participating in sharing information about lessons learned and tips to building an experimental aircraft, please first visit this page:
BeforeYouParticipate There are portions of this wiki where its architecture can be utilized by experienced builders to share their knowledge and and take advantage of the software to connect this information and terminology to make learning and finding useful know-how easier. Their participation can be very valuable to other builders.
Build Wiki site history
This wiki went live 04 December 2009. Progress on the entire Flying Breadbin project can be found at the
Progress Blog site. It reports on progress from October 2008 to the current date.
